The Greatest Peace- Romans 5:1 (ESV)

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peace! We all long for peace. Every Miss America contestant says that she wants “world peace.”

But sometimes peace is hard to come by. In order for two people or two nations to have peace with each other, all involved need to desire peace. If one party does not want peace, peace will not happen. This same principle holds true with God. God wants to have peace with us. He even takes the initiative.

But some people don’t want peace with God. Peace with God can only be obtained through the salvation offered by Jesus. When you trust Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are immediately justified by your faith. After being saved, you don’t need to do a thing to enjoy peace with God. Peace with God is part of the package deal obtained through salvation. Paul tells us that having been justified by faith, we have peace with God. He further tells us that peace with God comes through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you at peace with God? If not, you need to trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior immediately. When you do, you will be saved and will have peace with God, the greatest peace there is.
