Perfect Sinners- Hebrews 10:14

14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

Do you consider yourself to be perfect? Do your friends and family consider you to be perfect? The answer to these questions is probably not. Yet, did you know that if you have trusted in Christ as your Lord and Savior, when God looks at you, he sees the perfection of Christ in you.

Hebrews 10:14 doesn’t tell us that we are being perfected, it sates that Christ has perfected us for all time. We are in the process of being sanctified, but we are not in a process of being perfected. God says that we are already perfected because of our faith in Jesus Christ.

Yes, it’s true that we are still sinners. But we are sinners who are being sanctified (transformed into the image of Christ). Sanctification is a life-long process. However, our being made perfect, like our salvation was a one -time event. Just as there was a moment in time when we were saved, we were perfected during that same moment in time.

So you may not consider yourself to be perfect. Your friends and family most likely do not see you as perfect, but God does. And his opinion is the most important one.

Perhaps you and no one else considers you to be perfect, and God does not either. That would be because you have never trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Trust Him today. He will save you and perfect you all at the same time.
