Our Wonderful Privilege-Psalm 91:15 (ESV)

15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.

Almighty God, creator and sustainer of life, has given us the privilege of prayer and the promise to answer our prayers. He tells us in this psalm that when we call to him, he will answer us. He is with us during our trials and tribulations. He will guide us through them and will deliver us from evil.

We have all these promises from God concerning prayer. Yet how many of us do not take advantage of this wonderful privilege that God has given to us. Jesus prayed daily. Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. Prayer is spoken of and sometimes commanded of us in the Bible, yet, so many of us refuse to accept the Lord’s invitation to speak privately with him.

We can tell him of our needs, our wants, our desires and our troubles. God promises to be with us in our times of trouble, to rescue us, and to honor us. Why not take God up on his offer and tell him all that is on your heart today?

Perhaps you don’t pray because you have not yet trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If that is you, trust Him today. Then you can go to him in prayer. He will hear you and answer you, and you can have a productive conversation with the Lord of the universe. And what could be better, more fulfilling, or more exciting than that. Take time to pray, today and every day.
