Jesus: The Savior of the World- John 4:42 (ESV)

42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Jesus once asked his disciples, “Who do men say that the Son of Man is?” (Matt. 16:13). They came up with all kinds of answers. Only Peter had the right answer, confessing Jesus to be the Christ, the Son of the living God (v.16). Jesus then stated that God the Father had revealed that to him.

In John chapter 4, after Jesus spoke to the woman at the well, she went and told everyone she could find that she believed that Jesus could be the Christ (John 4:29). After the towns people heard Jesus speak for two days, they became convinced as well.

In response to the question Jesus posed to his disciples in Matthew chapter 16, many people in our world give many different answers. Very few people get it right. Only those who have heard and believe the gospel message and have been convicted of their sin by the Hoy Spirit get that question right.

In John chapter 4, Jesus demonstrated how to witness to people about Him. When we witness to people concerning Jesus and they believe, they then become the children of God (John 1:12). As the people of Samaria observed, Jesus is the Savior of the world. If you have not yet trusted in Him, do so today. Jesus is ready, willing, and able to save you today..
