Be Prepared- Matthew 25:13 ESV
13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
Be prepared. That’s the motto of the boy Scouts of America. Jesus also spoke quite a bit about being prepared. As I write this devotion, North Carolina, and much of the east coast of the United States are under a winter storm advisory. Meteorologists say that the East Coast of the U.S. will experience a major winter storm bringing snow, ice and sleet to various regions. The warnings going out over the news is that we are to be prepared for this storm. Once the storm starts travel will be severely limited if not halted altogether.
Jesus gave many warnings concerning our need to be prepared for His return. One of those warnings is found in Matthew chapter 25. Jesus says, “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” In other words, “Be prepared.” The return of Christ will happen without warning. His return is imminent.
If you are a Christian, you need to be living in such a way that you will not be caught off guard and ashamed at His appearing. If you are not a Christian, you need to get right with God before it’s too late. To get right with God, Paul says in Romans 10: 9-10: … if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior today, and you will be prepared for His return.
