The Gift of the Holy Spirit- Ephesians 1:13 ESV

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.

What is your opinion concerning the gospel message? Some people consider it to be hate speech. Others embrace it as God’s truth. In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul presents the gospel as the word of truth and the gospel of your salvation, which is exactly what it is.

It is the gospel message that brings us to the truth that results in our salvation. In Romans chapter 10 Paul said that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17). Here in Ephesians, Paul states that after hearing and believing the gospel of your salvation, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to the believer, along with salvation. He is the assurance of our salvation. He indwells all believers and gives spiritual gifts to them. He also convicts of sin and guides us in our daily walk with Christ.

Do you have the Holy Spirit? Have you responded to the gospel message in a positive way by confessing with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead? If you have then you are redeemed and have the promised Holy Spirit dwelling within you.

If you have not responded positively to the gospel message, you can do so today. Simply stated: The gospel message states that all are sinners. But God in his love , sent Jesus into the world to reveal God to us and to fulfill the law. By living a life without sin, thereby fulfilling the law, and dying on the cross, Jesus is able to save all who come to Him in faith. The Bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Jesus shed His blood so we could be forgiven our sins and saved. Trust in Jesus today, you will be saved, and will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
